The three fossil fuels are oil, coal and natrual gas. Their responsable for 90% of U.S. greenhouse gas. The 1st use was when Marco Polo saw people in China burning "black stones".
Coal is formed when dead plants turn into pleat. The three types of coal are brown coal, Bitumnious coal and Anthracite coal. Anthracite coal is 95% carbon.
Oil is formed by dead animals. You can find crude oil in tar pits. The Native Americans new that oil could cure frostite.
Natural gasses were discovered in Iran between 2,000 and 6,000 B.C. It is lighter than air.

A fossil is any evidence or remains of a organism that once lived on Earth. One kind of fossil is a imprint. It is a impression left by an object left in mud or sand that hardens. Another is a mold which is a hallow spae in the exact sape of whatever made it.
The Formation of Fossils
Fossils are formed when a liing creature dies and leaves evidence of it's existance behind. Fossils can be formed in tar, dried mud or sand and the remains themselves can be found. It can take millions of years for a fossil to form.
